Our aims
Oral History NSW was established in 1979 as a non-profit association supporting the promotion and improvement of oral history. Its aims include:
Providing a community of practice and a forum for sharing information about the techniques and application of oral history
Promoting discussion and training on all aspects of oral history as a discipline and as a means of gathering and preserving social and cultural history
Fostering preservation, access and use of oral history collections
Pursuing common objectives and maintains links with other Australian oral history associations through membership of Oral History Australia
Advocating on behalf of oral history
