International Oral History Association (IOHA)


Membership is open to any individual or institution supporting the goals and objectives of the Association. The IOHA provides a forum for oral historians around the world, in order to foster international communication and cooperation and a better understanding of the nature and value of oral history. It meets every two years at the Biennial International Oral History Conference held in different regions or continents. The next Conference Memory and Narration will be held in Finland 18-21 June 2018.

Words and Silences is the official journal of the International Oral History Association. It is an online peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles on oral history methodology, as well as research that is based on oral history interviewing. View the  Call for Papers for the 2017 Journal Oral History and Emotions

H-ORALHIST online global network 

H-ORALHIST is a free onliine network for those interested in studies related to oral history. It is a member of the H-Net, the Humanities & Social Sciences Online initiative, an international interdisciplinary organisation of scholars and teachers dedicated to utilising the enormous educational potential of the internet. Its edited lists and websites publish peer reviewed essays, multimedia materials, and discussion for scholars and the interested public. H-Oralhist is affiliated with the Oral History Association USA.
